MediaLas STP8 Actuator

Pinout for the MediaLas STP8 Actuator. This is not an official MediaLas document, for the latest version, contact info@medialas.com

Place the actuator on it's base with the mirror and arm pointing forward, and the circuit board with terminal strip at the bottom facing you.  The terminal strip connections are:

  • Left = Control signal

  • Center = Ground

  • Right = +12 VDC

Reverse actuation

In some situations it is desirable to have the actuator's default condition be inserted into the beam, and the control signal cause it to move out of the beam.  This is useful for color boxes and shutters.  Caution, the STP8 us not spring loaded and if there is a problem, may not act safely as a shutter as it relies on power being applied to return to it's home [non activated] position.

To reverse the direction of actuation, locate the yellow and black wires on the side of the circuit board.  Carefully unsolder them and then re-solder them in reverse [yellow to black's original position - black to yellow's original position].
